Varnish is a web application accelerator platform, which caches data for the sake of quicker response times. It is sometimes referred to as an HTTP reverse proxy as well and it interacts between a web server and a web browser. When a site visitor accesses a particular webpage, the content is requested by the web browser, and then the server handles this browser request and returns the requested information. If Varnish is enabled for a particular site, it will cache its pages on the very first request and in case the visitor accesses a cached page once again, the data will be delivered by the accelerator platform and not by the server. The boosted load speed is an end result of the significantly faster response time that Varnish offers compared with any web server software. At the same time, this does not mean that the site visitors will keep being served the exact same content over and over again, as any modification on any of the web pages is reflected in the content that Varnish keeps in its system memory.
Varnish in Shared Hosting
Varnish comes as an optional upgrade with each of our shared hosting. You can add it to your web hosting account from the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which is offered with all shared web hosting plans and you will get an exceptionally easy-to-use GUI, which will grant you complete control over the content caching system. Using one-click fast-access controls, you can reboot or remove any of the instances, i.e. Varnish will no longer be activated for a given site. You can also view a comprehensive system log file or clear the cache for any of the Internet sites. When you add Varnish to your hosting package, you will be able to choose the total amount of memory that will be at your disposal for data caching purposes and the number of the websites that will use Varnish. You can always get more memory in increments of 32 MB and, for optimal performance, you can set a dedicated IP for the websites that will use Varnish. This will enable you to get the most out of your sites and to have a lot of pleased site users.
Varnish in Semi-dedicated Servers
Varnish is a feature, which comes as standard with all semi-dedicated servers that we’re offering and you can use it for workload distribution purposes. It is available in your Hepsia hosting Control Panel. The Varnish caching platform comes with 64 MB of system memory for cached data storing purposes and you can employ it with any website that you host in the semi-dedicated account. If you are in need of more, you can increase the system memory allocation. The memory itself is offered in increments of 32 MB in the Upgrades section of the Control Panel. The same section will allow you to enable more instances as well, in case you want to use the Varnish platform with multiple websites. The two upgrades can be added separately – you can cache the content of one single frequently visited Internet site or run several different Internet sites with the default memory quota. You can take full advantage of the Varnish caching platform in case you use a dedicated IP address and you can get one with your semi-dedicated plan as well. The Hepsia Control Panel will give you complete control over the platform and, with no more than one mouse click, you will be able to clear the cached contents, to check a log or to reboot an instance.
Varnish in Dedicated Servers
You can employ Varnish in order to improve the loading speed of any website that’s hosted on a dedicated server from us when the Hepsia hosting Control Panel is installed on it. Not only will you get the caching platform ready for use at no additional cost, but you will also exert total control over it through the Hepsia Control Panel’s simple-to-navigate GUI. It will take just a click to start or disable an instance or to delete the cached files associated with any site that is using Varnish and if you’re more trained, you can also check the platform’s logs. Varnish comes with no less than three gigabytes of virtual memory for content caching purposes, so even in case you host a lot of websites on your dedicated server and they all use the caching platform, the difference in their overall performance will be perceivable. You will simply need to wait for a while until Varnish caches whatever webpages the website visitors load on their end. The platform works best if the websites use a dedicated IP, but owing to the fact that our dedicated servers include three charge-free IP addresses, you’ll have all that you need.
